Self-assessment

The astigmatism dial

Self-assessment for information only: it is not a screening, an examination or a medical opinion, it does not constitute a diagnosis and it does not replace an eye examination. A.N.P.I.G. is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of the results.

A fan dial with groups of lines in every direction, like a clock face. With eyesight free of astigmatism the lines all look equally black and sharp; if some look more pronounced to you, point them out by tapping them.

  • If you wear glasses or lenses, do the test FIRST without them and then with your correction: the dial reveals uncorrected astigmatism.
  • Hold the screen straight in front of you, not tilted.
  • A well-lit room and screen brightness at maximum.
  • One eye at a time: cover the other with the palm of your hand, without pressing.

Before you begin

  • This is a self-assessment for information only: it is not a consultation, a screening, an examination or a medical device, and it does not provide a diagnosis.
  • The result depends on your screen, the light and the distance, and it may be inaccurate, even when it looks normal.
  • Your answers stay on this device: we do not receive them and we do not store them.
  • For any problem with your eyesight, or if a result worries you, see your eye doctor. A.N.P.I.G. is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of the results.
